Spiritually Informed Integral Multi-Dimensional Approach
SIIMDA
is an acronym for: Spiritually Informed Integral Multi-Dimensional Approach. Each letter in the acronym of the name represents a foundational component of the model, which is rooted in the Holy Spirit’s empowerment and Jesus’ Healing.
The Components of the Model
Rooted in Christian theology and spiritual practice. SIIMDA draws from a Trinitarian understanding of relationality and is shaped by the healing ministry of Jesus as a model of restorative presence, compassion, and integration of body, mind, and spirit. This component incorporates spiritual formation and contemplative practices that foster discernment, attentiveness to God’s presence, and openness to grace. Grounded in the Imago Dei, holy love, sanctification, and redemption, this dimension supports healing as both spiritual transformation and the restoration of God-given dignity within a sacred relational space.
Integral refers to what is essential for wholeness. This component affirms that healing requires attention to the whole person, integrating emotional, psychological, spiritual, relational, social, sexual, and communal dimensions of human experience. No single aspect of personhood is treated in isolation; each is understood as interconnected and necessary for a cohesive and embodied sense of self.
The Multi-Dimensional component recognizes that healing is best supported through the integration of diverse, research-informed therapeutic modalities. These approaches are engaged not as isolated techniques, but as complementary systems of theory, meaning, and practice that together address the layered nature and complexity of the human experience.
The Approach component of SIIMDA Soul Care understands approach as drawing near—to God, to oneself, and to others—in a way that forms the caregiver into a person of presence. Rather than relying on prescribed protocols or techniques, this approach emphasizes a way of being that emerges from a lived, intimate relationship with God. Grounded in attentiveness and availability to God’s presence, the practitioner becomes a healing presence to others. This way of life is cultivated through an ongoing response to God’s invitation into deeper personal healing, sustained by spiritual practices that nurture discernment, embodied awareness, and a growing capacity to remain present with what is.
Founder:
Dr. Dave Janvier, LPC
Dave entered the counseling field as a Licensed Professional Counselor 20 years ago by an invitation and a calling. The invitation was God leading Dave to deeper levels of personal healing and a greater experience of God’s presence and Grace. The calling was to go forth, create healing spaces for others and equip those called to do the healing work and ministry of Jesus. Viewing this work as missional and spiritually formative, Dave has integrated psychology and counseling modalities with theology and spiritual formation. He views himself as a spiritual companion to those who are in need of deep healing from devastating trauma, profound suffering and enslaving addictions. To effectively do this, Dave acquired further training and certifications in trauma therapy, sex therapy, gestalt therapy, spiritual direction/formation. His dissertation was a process of fine-tuning the SIIMDA Soul Care holistic model.
Dave enjoys teaching, training and equipping others for the healing work of Jesus, which the development of the SIIMDA Soul Care model and training program is an outgrowth of this passion. Dave loves leading healing retreats where he is honored to have a front row seat in witnessing the Holy Spirit’s work bring healing and freedom to those suffering from significant wounding and trauma. It is Dave’s prayer and passion that all will come to know the healing power and touch of Jesus.
